When considering the cost of your Ceremony.....
I truly do believe that the actual Ceremony is the "heart" of the whole event! It is the Ceremony where two individuals are joined into one union. It is the Ceremony where Couples vow their love for one another. It is the Ceremony that marks the beginning of a new life together. It is the Ceremony that really is the main event.
The Officiant fees should be considered a very small but very necessary part of the overall expense of your special occasion. When compared to the venue, photography, food catering, music/DJ, wedding attire and flowers, the cost of a minister can be a very small slice of your overall budget... Especially when you consider that you are receiving a personalized, customized written Ceremony, not a script. Besides the initial free telephone consultation that I offer, we then, set-up our face-to-face consultation, where I really get to know the couple, I have unlimited follow-up telephone and/or e-mail conversations with each couple for revisions of the ceremony. In some cases there is a rehearsal, where more details are worked out. Then "at last" is the actual wedding ceremony performance its self-
A professional Wedding Celebrant or Officiant , like myself knows how to bring your Ceremony to Life! With my upbeat personality and an appropriate sense of humour, along with my calming nature and flexibility I will put you at ease, your wedding party, and engage with your family, guests, photographer, DJ, and venue.
Then there is the official paperwork that must be filed with the Register of Deeds office, that I take care of- either hand delivering to Buncombe County Register of Deeds or mailing the Marriage License via U.S postal certified to the Register of Deeds office that you applied and received your marriage license from.
All in all it may seem that I do more work at my desk per wedding than at the service. I put in many hours of work for each couple that I marry because each couples' ceremony is a customized ceremony. There is a lot of work involved in creating a very unique memorable Ceremony, but I thoroughly enjoy what I do!
A Wedding Officiant does not have a congregation, therefore they do not have a salary. They also do not have the built-in clientele of the church membership.
Wedding Officiants also have all the expenses of running a business.
My wedding ceremony services are moderately priced and competitive with other professional wedding ministers and officiants. I find that I have been one of the few most affordable professional & experienced Ministers to officiate wedding ceremonies in the Western North Carolina area. I'm trying to keep my wedding officiant services attainable to everyone without compromising my priority of personalized attention to each couple and their own wedding. One reason I never 'push' for a rehearsal- There have been very few Ceremonies that I actually need to be at, I know my position- and it is not a wedding coordinator.
Although, I always recommend that you and your Bridal Party rehearse, especially if you are having Bridesmaids, flower girl, Groomsmen etc. It's just not always necessary for me to be there.
Every couple has my full undivided attention when I Officiate - I spend time and care deeply for each couple that I have the privilege to get to know, write their ceremony for, and am honored to officiate.
